मौसमी या मानसूनी पवने Seasonal or monsoon winds

मानसून शब्द अरबी भाषा के मौसिम से बना है जिसका तात्पर्य मौसम या ऋतु से है इस शब्द का प्रयोग सर्वप्रथम अरब सागर पर बहने वाली हवा के लिए किया गया था जिनका दिशा वर्ष में दो बार ग्रीष्म काल व शीतकाल मैं पूर्णता बदल जाता है उपोष्ण कटिबंधीय के कुछ महाद्वीप भाग ऐसे हैं जहां वायुदाब व्यवस्था मौसम के अनुसार पूरी तरह बदल जाती है अतः वायु दिशा भी उसी आधार पर बदल जाता है मानसून हवा की दिशा परिवर्तन ही एक मात्र विशेषता नहीं है सामान्य रूप में मानसून हवा धरातल की संवहनिय क्रम है जिसकी उत्पत्ति स्थल तथा जल के विपरीत स्वभाव तथा तापीय भिन्नता के कारण होता है ऐसी दशा दक्षिणी एवं पूर्वी एशिया में विशेषता पाई जाती है दक्षिणी एशिया में विकसित इस व्यवस्था को उष्णकटिबंधीय मानसून एवं चीन व निकटवर्ती भागों के ऊंचे अक्षांशों में विकसित व्यवस्था को शीतोष्ण कटिबंधीय मानसून कहते हैं भारत में मानसून हवाएं ग्रीष्म मैं प्रायः दक्षिणी पश्चिम दिशा से चलती है अतः जब भी पवन समुद्र की ओर से चलती है तब सारे प्रभावित प्रदेश में धरातल के अनुसार वर्षा हो जाती है इसलिए मानसूनी वर्षा को पर्वत्य या धरातलीय वर्षा भी कहते हैं।

The word monsoon is derived from the Arabic language mausim, which means weather or season. This word was first used for the wind flowing over the Arabian Sea, whose direction changes twice a year in summers and winters of subtropical.  There are some continent parts where the air pressure system changes completely according to the weather, so the wind direction also changes on the same basis.  Tan is not the only feature. In general, the monsoon is the convective sequence of the air surface, which is due to the nature of the site and the opposite nature of water and the thermal variation. Such a condition is found in South and East Asia.  Tropical monsoon and the system developed in high latitudes of China and nearby parts are called temperate monsoon.  In India, the monsoon winds usually move from the south-west direction in summer, so whenever the wind moves from the sea, then the rain falls in all the affected areas according to the ground, hence the monsoon rainfall is also called mountain or ground rain.
